Kelly Trump Obama & alternate realities

It's pretty clear that the current alternate political realities are not going to change, certainly not soon enough for me.

In this news clip, Megyn Kelly is shocked at the level of President Obama's anger at Donald Trump's post-Orlando comments, reinforcing the points that her party's presumptive candidate made without any sense that anything he said was in the least bit questionable.

Brit Hume said that the president's comments dripped with condescension toward all Republicans, simply directed at their banner carrier.

To both, the president has shrugged off a mass murder & focused his anger on Donald Trump.

(Megyn skewered the president for an incident where he played gold during a major crisis, which only served to make me think of a far more egregious incident with Bush 43.)

Where I experienced President Obama as defending Americans that Donald Trump damned with his comments (including that Muslim Americans KNOW about upcoming terror attacks & stay silent), Megyn experienced as something else.  Both she & Brit were dismayed that President Obama wasn't giving loud enough voice to the nation's anger.

I know the president is expected to be Chief Mourner, Chief Consoler, but the idea of him being Chief Angry American is a new concept to me.  And, frankly, it's scary.  I want my president to be balanced.  Anger serves a use;  feeling full of anger does not.

There will be those who think that every word Megyn says in the clip is utterly true.  There will be those, like me, who consider her commentary to be in lock step with her party's presumptive candidate & even underscoring Trump's description of Obama an something other than what we see.

Our nation is beset with radically alternate realities, adrift in alternate universes, when it comes to how we view what's unfolding before our eyes.  To the right, the president is angry at Trump & his words expressed contempt for all Republicans.  I experienced him as pushed beyond his limits by a man who spent more time tweeting self-congrats & slams against the president than he did grief for the victims & outrage over the actual incident (read Donald Trump's twitter feed).

And nary the twain shall meet.  God help us all.
